Itinerary
DAY 1 – 07 July (Thu) -– ARRIVAL IN REYKJAVIK, ICELAND
Upon arrival at Reykjavik Airport you will be met by your Tour Guide and Driver for an excursion to the BLUE LAGOON* to enjoy a peaceful time, an incredible geothermal spa, set in an otherworldly area where lava and thermal water meet and complement each other. The Blue Lagoon's warm water and natural active ingredients; mineral salts, silica and blue green algae help you relax and unwind while the Blue Lagoon white silica mud gently cleanses and exfoliates the skin. The mineral salts balance and relax body and soul. After having enjoyed all the amenities of the Blue Lagoon, your coach will take you back to Reykjavik for a city orientation drive and entrance to HARPA for a guided tour. Later enjoy a welcome dinner with wine at your hotel. (D)
Note: Group needs to arrive together on the same flight or during the same arrival window (preferred arrival window is 60-90 minutes) to utilize the included group transfer to the Blue Lagoon. Any flights falling outside of that window are not eligible for the group transfer, or eligible for a refund of the prepaid sightseeing.
Note: Blue Lagoon excursion is not guaranteed and subject to availability due to high demand and restricted access. Also, due to narrow streets in Reykjavik City Center many hotels do not have enough space for a coach to stop outside. Walking distance for passengers can be up to 10 minutes, depending on location. Globus will use a shuttle to transfer the luggage.
DAY 2 –-08 July (Fri) - REYKJAVIK. EXCURSION GOLDEN CIRCLE TOUR
After breakfast, early morning travel to Thingville, Iceland's most famous sight where the first meeting of the Icelandic Parliament was held in 903. Drive through THINGVILLE NATIONAL PARK, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Stop at the HOT SPRINGS AT GEYSIR for a real treat: meet the chef of the Geysir restaurant and walk with him to the geothermal areas. Taste freshly baked bread, which is cooked using the heat from the hot-springs, with Icelandic butter, boiled eggs and herring, and a glass of geysir schnapps, served at freezing point. We continue our journey to GULLFOSS WATERFALL, a two tiered lava-rock waterfall spanning the entire width of the Hvita River. Next to the geothermal active valley of HAUKADALUR, an area with an abundance of hot springs and geysers. Strokkur is one of the most active geysirs in the area, blasting off almost every five minutes up to 100 feet in the air. Return to Reykjavik for an evening at your leisure. (B)
Day 3 – 9 July (Sat) - DEPART REYKJAVIK, ICELAND – AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS
